Dr June Chander provides private orthodontic treatment in Southampton to children and adults of any age. Treatment can usually start immediately, with a wide range of options and extra benefits.
If you’re ready for a smile that transforms your appearance Invisalign® is the answer! This state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment straightens teeth without the need for traditional fixed braces and is removable and virtually invisible.
Invisalign consists of a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks for the next set of aligners. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your dental practitioner. For details of the process you can read our information leaflet.
What’s more, a virtual 3D treatment plan (ClinCheck© treatment plan) shows the series of movements your teeth will go through over the course of the treatment. This allows you to see up front what your teeth are expected to look like at the end of the treatment. Based upon the results of the ClinCheck treatment plan, your custom-made, clear aligners are produced especially for you.
Fixed Appliance Therapy (train-track): The preferred option for children because it allows the orthodontist to be very precise about the position of the teeth, leading to excellent results and a lovely smile. Fixed braces come in fun and funky colours and are popular with children and teenagers. Adults however, may prefer tooth coloured studs that make a fixed brace almost invisible and more aesthetically pleasing.
Removable Appliance: For minor corrections or for treating jaw discrepancies in children.
Functional Appliance: A removable brace that works on the upper and lower teeth at the same time.
Retaining Appliance: You will usually be asked to wear a removable retaining brace for at least six months to prevent the teeth from drifting back to their old positions.
Dr June Chander provides NHS Orthodontic treatment for children under 18 who, following certain assessment tests, meet the prescribed criteria and require braces for dental health reasons. NHS patients must have been referred by their general dentist via the Orthodontic Referral Centre and an indication of the waiting list time will be given with the acknowledgement of the referral for treatment. Patients who wish to be treated under the NHS will be placed on a waiting list and will be offered an appointment at some time in the future.
